Mounting the nüvi on the Windshield

Check your state and local traffic laws before mounting your nüvi. Currently, state laws in California and Minnesota prohibit drivers from using suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles. In these cases other Garmin dashboard or friction mounting options should be used. See the owner’s manual or www.garmin.com for more details.
For a tight grip, clean and dry your windshield and the suction cup with a lint-free cloth before mounting the suction cup. Suction cup may be moistened before application to create a tighter seal with windshield surface.

To mount the suction cup mount:
      1. Place the suction cup on the windshield.
      2. Flip the lever back, toward the windshield.
      3. Open the antenna. Fit the bottom of your nüvi into the cradle.
      4. Tilt your nüvi back until it snaps into place. If necessary, rotate the cradle.
      5. Plug the small end of the cable into the back of the mount (not the side of the nüvi); plug the other end into a 12/24-Volt receptacle in your vehicle.

NOTE: The suction cup mount is a temporary mounting device and will need to be periodically removed and reapplied to ensure a tight seal is maintained.

For all other Garmin dashboard or friction mounting options see the owner’s manual or www.garmin.com for more details.

Do not leave your GPS unit exposed in an unattended vehicle on a hot day. To prevent damage, remove it from the vehicle; or store it out of direct sunlight, such as in the glove box. See the specifications in the owner’s manual.
